Frequently asked questions
Our walk is not a fitness hike. Instead, we use guided sensory "invitations" and reiki-inspired "rituals" to help you disconnect from stress, engage your senses, and connect deeply with the natural world.Â
Walks typically last around 2 - 2.5 hours.
Our trips are currently exclusively for Aragosta at Goose Cove guests. We invite you to contact them by email: info@aragostamaine.com or phone: +1 (207) 348-6900 to request a walk!
• 7+ days’ notice — Full refund
• 72 hours–7 days — 50% refund
• Within 72 hours — Non-refundable
We walk in varied coastal weather — mist, fog, and light rain are often part of the beauty. In the case of severe or unsafe conditions, we will gladly reschedule or refund your experience.
Our walk covers a very short distance at a very slow pace and features frequent pauses for sitting and observing. Caution is advised: the coastal terrain is rocky, covered in knotted roots, and at times, somewhat steep. Some areas have very light scrambling and drop-offs.
Layers are highly recommended, as your body temperature may drop during stationary periods. Wear closed-toe, comfortable walking shoes and bring weather protection (sunscreen, hat, or rain jacket).
Please note that even in summer, the weather on the coast can be quite cool!
Although bug spray is recommended (especially at sunset) your guide is allergic to DEET and some sunscreens. She will provide you with an alternative DEET-free solution called "Cedarcide": https://cedarcide.com/pages/ingredients
We recommend the minimum you need to be comfortable. However, pockets and layers are strongly recommended.
To fully embrace the calm and beauty of nature during this experience, we invite you to leave phones and other devices behind or on Do Not Disturb. This way, you can be fully present, refresh your mind, and connect deeply with the natural world around you.
We encourage you to be fully present during this nature bathing experience. If you'd like to capture a moment, feel free to take a few photos before or after the walk.
However, if taking photos is a mindful way for you to connect with your surroundings, do what feels most right to you. Luckily, if you decide to "forget" your phone and want to take pictures at another time, the trail is easy to explore and easy to come back to from Aragosta, we invite you to enjoy the trails at your leisure!
No: "the guide’s prompts and activities are merely suggestions or "invitations". You have the right to choose whether or not to participate in any given activity, and there is no pressure or expectation for you to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. You will take full responsibility for your own physical and emotional safety."
